Baby O

Introduce your baby to a world of sound and song

In our magical, musical garden you and your baby will meet the ducks, the fish and the busy bees. Listen to the voices, relax and enjoy this gentle, harmonious world of sound.

Hearing is one of the first senses to develop in the womb and it has been shown that babies will respond to their mother's voice as early as 20 weeks in pregnancy. Babies’ vision does not fully develop until a few months after birth so they rely more on hearing to decipher the world around them and will turn their head towards sound.*

BabyO creates a calming experience for you and your baby to enjoy together. The music is entirely vocal and is sung using sounds and words that babies will recognise and understand. Techniques such as hocketting (taking turns to deliver a phrase) are used to emulate the babies’ experience of language and sound during their development. The vocals vary to musically mirror and enhance the scenery, props and the movements of the singers in the performance.

To get the most out of this interactive opera experience we recommend that parents/carers are each responsible for one child at most.

Suitable for babies aged 6 -18 months.
