Emerging Artists Benefactors

Become an Emerging Artists Benefactor…and help us nurture the talent of tomorrow

Scottish Opera has a long history of developing talent. From Lisa Milne to Simon Keenlyside, we have been there at the start of some illustrious careers. Today, our Emerging Artists programme continues to look after the future of opera, giving young artists a reason to live and work in Scotland.

Initially set up for outstanding young singers, we have recently introduced a Composer in Residence position, an Emerging Artist Repetiteur, an Emerging Artist Director and Costumier in Residence all thanks to the generosity of our Emerging Artists Benefactors and supporters. Each year we seek out the best new talent in opera and offer a period of work with the Company, bridging the gap between study and employment, and launching careers in the most practical way we can.

As a National Company with a huge range of in-house expertise, we are uniquely placed to deliver high-quality training, mentoring and performance opportunities.

More importantly, we can also provide a safe environment in which our Emerging Artists can develop and practise their craft.

Invest in young artists today
Our Emerging Artists programme relies on the significant generosity of individual donors and trusts. A gift to the programme will help us expand our work to support the disciplines that make up opera, creating professional development opportunities that would otherwise not exist in Scotland.

You can become an Emerging Artists Benefactor with a gift of £3,000 or more a year and play a crucial role in developing young talent. As a Benefactor, you can follow our Emerging Artists as they begin their careers, and see how your investment is making a difference.
