THEATRE ROYAL GLASGOW OPENS ITS DOORS

Theatre Royal Glasgow opens its doors this Saturday (20 May), offering people a closer look inside with free tours throughout the day.

The tours take in the beautifully-designed foyers, from Victorian elegance to the striking new spiral staircase, as well as fascinating displays from the theatre’s past.

There are unique opportunities to take a peek backstage at what goes on behind the scenes, to see the set of Scottish Opera’s La bohème on stage, and to check out the musicians’ view from the orchestra pit.

Wigs and costumes from the show will also be on display, and some of the 1920s accessories can even be tried on!

Theatre Royal Glasgow is Scottish Opera’s performance home, and was recently transformed with the addition of a stunning new foyer building which opened to the public on 16 December 2014.
