The invitations have been sent, the church is booked and the bridesmaids are ready to go.

We have a fantastic new production of The Marriage of Figaro coming to theatres around Scotland this autumn. Internationally renowned baritone Sir Thomas Allen directs Mozart's unstoppable masterpiece in collaboration with designer Simon Higglett. Their outstanding production of The Barber of Seville in 2007 won rave reviews from audiences and critics alike and we're excited that the team is back together again, this time for Figaro and Susanna's big day.

The once charming Count Almaviva now spends his days pestering the serving girls. He has a particular soft spot for Susanna, the girl Figaro is hoping to marry that very day, and is doing all he can to put a spanner in the works. Figaro, Susanna and Rosina, Almaviva's wife, conspire to stop him, but not before Figaro's old foe, Dr Bartolo makes an appearance. Will they make it down the aisle?

Significant support has already been received from Dunard Fund and the Scottish Opera Syndicate towards the costs such as sets, costumes and wigs. Why not play a supporting role and help the production to the stage by supporting an individual character?

All we need now is your support

'The Marriage of Figaro is a lifelong favourite of mine and I am delighted to be returning to Scottish Opera to direct it. Please lend your support and help us bring this wonderful opera to theatres around Scotland.'
