Scottish Opera is working closely with the Chambers of Commerce in Glasgow, Edinburgh and Aberdeen & Grampian to create dynamic networking events.

Scottish Opera and Glasgow Chamber of Commerce joint networking event

For example, in 2008, Glasgow Chamber of Commerce held a successful networking event based on Scottish Opera’s Unwrapped performance of The Secret Marriage.

Chamber members and their guests were entertained to an hour-long taster of the ‘opera experience’ performed by The Orchestra of Scottish Opera, singers and backstage crew. After the presentation, networking began over supper in the private hospitality rooms. Attendees also had the opportunity to take short tours of the theatre and hear how Scottish Opera works as a business in Glasgow.

The event received enthusiastic feedback and many newcomers to opera who attended this introductory evening have since come to a full-length opera performance.
