The Scottish Opera Syndicate

Members of The Scottish Opera Syndicate are a group of supporters who have made a major financial commitment to help the Company put more opera on the stage. In return they enjoy a very personal relationship with us.

In 2007, the Syndicate supported a hugely successful new production of Il barbiere di Siviglia, directed by Sir Thomas Allen and designed by Simon Higlett.

With their continued financial backing, we were able to create an additional major production, in partnership with the 2008 Edinburgh International Festival, of Smetana’s The Two Widows. Since then, their support has enabled us to stage new productions of Rossini’s riotous The Italian Girl in Algiers and an unforgettable telling of Stravisky’s The Rake’s Progress, directed by Sir David McVicar.

In our 50th Anniversary Season we are delighted that the Scottish Opera Syndicate is supporting a new production of Mozart’s The Magic Flute with direction from Sir Thomas Allen and design by Simon Higlett.

Scottish Opera is keen to attract new Syndicate members. For an informal discussion, please call Felicity Osmond on 0141 242 0598 or email felicity.osmond@scottishopera.org.uk
