Work Experience

Scottish Opera is passionate about creating opportunities for young people to experience the wonderful art form of opera.

The work experience week is for young people who may be considering a future in the performing arts sector, whether as performer, technical theatre specialist, or arts administrator. The week is open to S4 secondary school pupils, eligible for work experience, resident in west central Scotland, and able to commute daily to Glasgow city centre.

Over the week, successful candidates will experience work activity over a variety of departments, with practical tasks and observation of the artistic work of the Company.

There are two weeks of work experience over the academic year, week commencing 19 October 2009 and week commencing 22 February 2010.

There are four places available in each of the weeks.
