Profile: Miranda Sinani, singer Opera Highlights
Tell us 3 things people might be surprised to learn about you?
Well, most people seem quite surprised when i tell them I play the bassoon, or that I am a big Formula1 fan! But, since I was child I had a special affection for ladybirds, and although I'm now a grown up I still love them!
What do you do when you're not singing?
I LOVE to go home and see my family, I go to the gym when my clothes don't seem to fit me anymore, I like evening walks, reading, dancing salsa, watching a good movie, eating popcorn and drinking home made hot chocolate.
If you weren't an opera singer, what would be your ideal profession?
I've always been fascinated by airplanes, so much so, that had I not been a singer I would very likely have become a pilot!
When you go out on tour, what will be the first 3 things you'll pack?
My toothbrush, my woollen socks that my mum made for me and my hot water bottle (I owe it all to being a southern European!)
What are you most looking forward to?
I am really looking forward to seeing the lovely Scottish countryside!
What are you least looking forward to?
Missing my very warm and comfortable bed.
What will you be listening to in the minibus?
I think it will have to be the very eclectic mix from my ipod!
Which places are you most looking forward to visiting?
All of them! I'm sure that every place we will be performing at will be special in its way.
Miranda is appearing in Opera Highlights from 2 Feb to 20 Mar. She is a Scottish Opera Emerging Artist.
