Tron Theatre, Glasgow
1 February 2025, 7.30pm
Join Scottish Opera for an interactive evening of music and storytelling as Breath Cycle arrives live on stage in 2025.
Experience an unforgettable evening where music meets raw human emotion as award-winning songwriter Gareth Williams and writer/director Martin O’Connor present A Story of Healing. Weaving together traditional, contemporary and classical sounds, A Story of Healing features an all-star ensemble, including Louis Abbott from Glasgow-based indie band Admiral Fallow, opera singer David Douglas and River City actress and singer Frances Thorburn. They will be supported by past singers from Scottish Opera Young Company.
This intimate performance showcases heartfelt and emotive songs from Scottish Opera's Breath Cycle project, transforming people’s complex Long COVID journeys into haunting melodies. Their songs tell stories of hope, triumph and resilience in equal measure, to stir your soul and lift your spirit, reminding us of music’s profound power to heal and unite.
Funders: Supported by The Scottish Government, Cruach Trust, The Murdoch Forrest Charitable Trust and Scottish Opera's Education Angels.
Thank you to City of Glasgow College for hosting a preview performance.
