Every year, Britain’s major opera companies host residencies for the London-based National Opera Studio – the UK’s leading training programme for young opera professionals. This season is the Studio’s 40th anniversary and Scottish Opera is hosting a week-long residency for the young artists, culminating in a semi-staged performance featuring Russian-themed repertoire, accompanied by The Orchestra of Scottish Opera.

Curated by Music Director Stuart Stratford, The Sunday Series: Opera in Concert puts the spotlight on early and lesser-known works by opera’s biggest names. Join The Orchestra of Scottish Opera and some world-class guest singers for drama, emotion, romance, and, most importantly, great music.

The repertoire will include excerpts from:

Tchaikovsky's The Queen of Spades
Walton's The Bear
Stravinsky's The Rake's Progress
Tchaikovsky's Eugene Onegin
Rimsky- Korsakov's Kashchey the Immortal
Mussorgsky's Khovanshchina
Tchaikovsky's Cherevichki
Rimsky-Korsakov's The Golden Cockerel
