Puccini's

Le Villi

CONCERT PERFORMANCE

Part of The Sunday Series: Opera in Concert

Anna is waiting for the return of her fiancé but, as winter approaches and there's still no sign of Roberto, she dies from a broken heart. Her father is enraged, and calls upon Le Villi to take vengeance...

Le Villi is based on the same legend as the classic ballet Giselle, and this opera-ballet was Puccini’s first stage work. Performed in the middle of our run of La bohème, it shows his familiar lyrical flair. This concert also includes Preludio Sinfonico, Crisantemi and Capriccio Sinfonico.

Curated by Music Director Stuart Stratford, The Sunday Series: Opera in Concert puts the spotlight on early and lesser-known works by opera’s biggest names. Join The Orchestra of Scottish Opera and some world-class guest singers for drama, emotion, romance, and, most importantly, great music.
