The Orchestra of Scottish Opera are delighted to be performing the final concert of Aberdeen Music Hall's Rêverie series, marking the historic venue's recent re-opening.

The programme opens with the world premiere performance of a specially commissioned piece for the occasion by Scottish Opera's Emerging Artist Composer-in-Residence, Samuel Bordoli. The piece is a new setting of a selection of writings from Belgian Nobel Laureate Maurice Maeterlinck’s mystical essays Le Trésor des Humbles.

The concert will also feature a special performance of the orchestral suite based on Debussy’s operatic masterpiece Pelléas and Mélisande, as a nod to Aberdeen’s forgotten diva Mary Garden, who performed in the original production in 1902.

Programme includes:

Samuel Bordoli: Le Trésor des Humbles (World Premiere)
Claude Debussy: Pelléas and Mélisande Suite (arr. Altinoglu)
Manual De Falla: El Amor Brujo
Maurice Ravel: Mother Goose Suite
