This month, Scottish Opera is helping to celebrate the re-opening of Paisley Town Hall after a major refurbishment, with two concert performances of Hansel & Gretel.
Conducted by Stuart Stratford, former Scottish Opera staff director Roxana Haines (Rubble 2022 and Così fan tutte 2021) stages the concert with a cast of current and former Scottish Opera Emerging Artists and Associate Artists and a children’s chorus. Humperdinck’s classic fairy tale will be brought to life at this iconic venue in the heart of Paisley.
Scottish Opera has partnered with Renfrewshire Toy Bank this Christmas, encouraging audience members to support this local charity during the festive period by purchasing a gift or making a cash donation via Paypal or bank transfer.
Thousands of Renfrewshire youngsters only receive gifts at Christmas thanks to the generosity of people who donate to the Toy Bank. Cash donations and wishlist purchases will allow the charity to tailor gifts to those in need this year.
