SCOTTISH OPERA'S IL TRITTICO FROM SIR DAVID McVICAR IS SHORTLISTED FOR AN INTERNATIONAL OPERA AWARD IN THE NEW PRODUCTION CATEGORY

The International Opera Awards 2023 nominees have just been announced, and we are thrilled that Il trittico has been shortlisted in the New Production category!

Opening at Theatre Royal Glasgow before touring to Festival Theatre Edinburgh, this new co-production with Welsh National Opera was directed by the world-renowned Scot, Sir David McVicar. It marked the first time he had directed Puccini's glorious trio of one-act operas — Il tabarro (The Cloak), Suor Angelica (Sister Angelica) and Gianni Schicchi.

Our Music Director, Stuart Stratford, conducted a cast including Roland Wood, Sunyoung Seo and Karen Cargill and set designs were by Charles Edwards.

Winners of the Awards will be announced on 9 November at the Teatr Wielki, Polish National Opera, in Warsaw. Thanks to all those who nominated us, and congratulations to all our fellow nominees!
