Auditions for The Great Wave
Actor / Dancer Roles
We are seeking six highly skilled and expressive Actor/Dancers (playing age between 18-45) of any gender with professional performance experience to appear as part of an ensemble in our forthcoming world premiere production of the opera The Great Wave composed by Dai Fujikura with libretto by Harry Ross. The production will be directed by Satoshi Miyagi, with choreography by Akiko Kitamura.
The Great Wave tells the story of the life of the artist Katsushika Hokusai and his famous woodblock print The Great Wave off Kanagawa. This groundbreaking opera directed by Satoshi Miyagi explores Hokusai’s creative triumphs and struggles, and his bond with his daughter Ōi.
Dancers must be available from the start of rehearsals on Monday 5 January 2025 up to and including the final performance on Saturday 21 February 2025. All rehearsals will take place in Glasgow and the production will tour to Glasgow and Edinburgh.

Auditions
Successful applicants will be invited to attend an audition in Glasgow or London.
