Character Groups FAQ
As part of the performance, your school pupils will be assigned to one of three character groups:
- Citizens Group
- Workers Group
- Landmark Group
It’s essential that the children know the songs and movements fully to give the best possible performance. Please contact us if you are having any problems with this.
Your school should learn three songs in total; two songs that the entire cast sings and one song that is performed only by a single character group.
The same applies for the learning the moves that accompany the songs using the teaching videos. All three groups learn the moves for Song 1 and Song 5, but each character group only learn the moves that go with their specific character song.

Playlists
Below you will find all of the audio files compiled into three playlists - full scores, backing tracks and teaching tracks. You can also download each track by clicking on the arrow next to each file.
Recits
You will see that there are a number of recording tracks called recits. These are short songs (or sometimes separate sections of a longer song) which are interspersed between the children’s songs and will be sung in the performance by our soloist Lea Shaw.
For example, the performance opens with a short solo from Lea sung to the same tune that is repeated in Song 1 (Our City) which is sung by all the children.
Although your pupils do not sing in these recits, they have some movements to perform at key moments and the signal (or cue) to do so, often comes from a line sung by Lea.
Therefore, please ensure they watch and learn the teaching videos for the Recits as well as for their songs.
