CELEBRATING THE LIFE OF LADY GIBSON

We at Scottish Opera are all deeply saddened to hear of the recent death of Lady Veronica Gibson, President of Scottish Opera and wife of Scottish Opera Founder Sir Alexander Gibson. Lady Gibson, or V – as she was known to all her friends, was a beloved fixture of Scotland’s cultural landscape for six decades, and played a key role in Scottish Opera’s behind the scenes development when her husband founded the Company in 1962. She was also President of Scottish Opera from 20 September 2013 until her death yesterday at the age of 85.
