The Orchestra of Scottish Opera conducted by Tobias Ringborg with guest soloists Catriona Hewitson and Ross Cumming present A Gala Evening of Opera.

Prepare to be transported by opera at its boldest and most passionate this February, when Scottish Opera returns to Ayr Town Hall with extracts from the operas of Mozart, Donizetti, Bizet, Mascagni, and Puccini showcasing the best of 18th and 19th century opera – its heyday of popularity – through a collection of beautiful melodies and captivating drama.

Tobias is no stranger to Scottish Opera 2009 - Così fan tutte for his British operatic debut at Scottish Opera, in an acclaimed production by David McVicar. He has returned to Scotland for Rigoletto, Il trovatore, Le nozze di Figaro and The Magic Flute. Soloists Catriona Hewitson, soprano, and Ross Cumming, baritone, are both former Scottish Opera Emerging Artists. This is an evening of classic opera delights not to be missed.
