A SYMPHONY IN STONE WINS BEST UK DOCUMENTARY AT THE ATLANTA AWARD-QUALIFYING FILM FESTIVAL 2020

A Symphony in Stone, scored by former Scottish Opera Composer in Residence Lliam Paterson, with Tony Burton, Scottish Opera Board Member, as Executive Producer, has won the Best UK Documentary at the Atlanta Award-Qualifying Film Festival 2020. This follows on from the project’s success at the Kyiv Film Festival (Ukraine) 2020, where it won Best British Feature.

Now approaching its 45th year, the Atlanta Film Festival (ATLFF) is Southeast America's  preeminent celebration of cinema and the flagship production of the Atlanta Film Society. One of the largest and longest-running festivals in the country, ATLFF showcases the work of both emerging and established artists.

A Symphony in Stone, which is 60-minutes in length, is narrated by actor Bill Paterson with music performed by members of The Orchestra of Scottish Opera. Commissioned by The Planning Exchange Foundation and made by Production Attic, it was initially shown as part of Glasgow’s West End Festival in 2019, and then at Glasgow’s last Doors Open Day Festival.
