THE NARCISSISTIC FISH RECIEVES A CLASSICAL MUSIC DIGITAL AWARD

We are thrilled to be starting 2021 with the news that our first Opera Short, The Narcissistic Fish, has received a Classical Music Digital Award.

In a ceremony streamed live on YouTube on New Year's Eve, presenter David Taylor celebrated the individuals and projects that embraced digital content during 2020, and kept the music playing.

Among the incredible musicians and projects recognised on the evening, our production The Narcissistic Fish received the Digital Project Opera award.

We are honoured to have what was our first Scottish Opera: On Screen in the collection acknowledged at the ceremony. The 12-minute film was a collaboration between Scottish Opera’s Composer in Residence Samuel Bordoli, Scottish poet and novelist Jenni Fagan, and our own in-house filmmaker, Antonia Bain.

The Classical Digital Awards 2020 stream was in aid of Musicians for Musicians, which aims to raise money for musicians in financial hardship due to the pandemic. Watch the ceremony here.

The Narcissistic Fish will also be featured at this year's Sound Festival on 28th January, as part of their online event streaming from Aberdeen Arts Centre. Find out more with Sound Festival's digital programme.
