Corporate Partnerships

Opportunities to get your business involved and work in partnership with one of Scotland’s leading  creative organisations.

Scottish Opera is a cultural hub for Scotland and the world. We bring world class Opera to people right across Scotland, run classes in Glasgow for people with dementia and their carers - all while bringing the performing arts to over 11,000 school children every year. We inspire and nurture the next generation of talented Scottish directors, costume makers and singers.

Right now there is a talent drain in Scotland. With around 13,000 creative jobs cut every year in Scotland,  we are losing singers, artists and the skills it takes behind the scenes to create incredible art because there are not enough opportunity or support. That's where Scottish Opera comes in. Through fully funded creative roles and hands-on coaching, we empower home-grown talent to reach their extraordinary potential.

The stories, craftsmanship and creativity from our team here at home is enjoyed all over the world on international stages. We make sure people have the tools and opportunities needed to reach their potential. Investing in Scottish Opera is an investment in the arts and Scotland.

A partnership with Scottish Opera shows your colleagues, your customers and your industry that you are a business that champions and chooses to invest in the future of Scotland’s creative minds, people and culture.

What partnerships with Scottish Opera look like

Every production we put on starts with thinking about how we want people to feel. They are rooted in purpose. We take the same approach to partnerships. At Scottish Opera we want to hit every note, so we design our partnerships with your goals and needs at the centre. Please do get in touch with Tracey to discuss. To start the conversation, here are three themes many of our partnerships start from.

Sponsorship for impact

Scottish Opera creates world class performances. The talent is unmatched - from our set designers to the live orchestra. There are opportunities to sponsor a production, event or become a Season sponsor.

These partnerships give your brand credibility and give you a unique opportunity to engage your clients, and our shared audience. We’ll work with you to create bespoke branding and engagement opportunities that will leave everyone wanting an encore.

‘Working with Scottish Opera was incredibly fulfilling, not just commercially, but they are incredible people putting on world class arts. The halo effect is huge. By sponsoring them, you build your own brand, and give your clients experiences money can't buy.’ - Trevor Hatton, ex-Managing Director of Accenture

Partnerships to invest in Scotland

When you invest in Scottish Opera, you invest in Scotland and its people. These partnerships will help you engage colleagues and clients while showing them how you're investing on your own doorstep.
The staff engagement and community impact you’ll get from this kind of partnership will give staff a reason to feel proud of your company’s contribution to Scottish society, while directly supporting your Social Responsibility goals.

Collaborate to accelerate

Scottish Opera builds partnerships that unite our brands to go further, together. It’s about showing your staff, customers and the world that you are championing Scotland, its culture and its people.

Using our platforms, through co-created product campaigns for example, will allow us to reach new audiences and accelerate the impact of both our brands. We specialise in supporting brands with deep heritage to bring their purpose to a modern day audience while preserving much loved history - just like we’ve done with Opera. We will create a movement that brings culture and heritage to everyone.

Why partner with Scottish Opera?

Experiences money can't buy

From meeting singers backstage and going to the workshop where our costumes are hand crafted to private recitals, partnering with Scottish Opera brings unrivalled benefits.

A partnership with us provides the opportunity to give your clients experiences money literally can’t buy. Experiences that will help set you apart from competitors, enrich your clients relationships, ultimately supporting you to secure and retain business.

Transforming your history to make you relevant

We specialise in honouring legacy and heritage while making a brand relevant, recognisable and valuable to a modern audience.
Whether you’re a brand with history or heritage looking for a way to modernise or a newer brand ready to grow your audience in an ever competing world - a partnership with us will connect with new audiences.

A powerful, proven partner

Our network is embedded in communities,  schools, and theatres - we can help you reach your key audiences, wherever they are, with our shared purpose. Companies can feel confident that partnerships are in safe hands with our entire team supporting to make this your best partnership yet.

Testimonials from our corporate partners

Accenture

Accenture is a management consulting and professional services company who we partnered with for seven years. In 2008, Accenture were looking to expand into Scotland to further their physical presence as a global brand. Our partnership was the first relationship they formed in Scotland, giving them access to experiences for clients that money can’t buy. Such as: private shows, VIP experiences backstage and even visiting our workshop, seeing where the wigs, sets and art are carefully shaped. Trevor Hatton, the Managing Director at the time, shared his experience of working with us:

‘Our partnership helped build our brand from scratch in Scotland. The brand is now very well known in Scotland; it’s a very successful business, and none of that would have happened without a marketing campaign to build our brand. Scottish Opera was a big part of that.

Working with Scottish Opera was incredibly fulfilling, not just commercially, but they are incredible people putting on world class arts. The halo effect is huge. Building our own brand alongside that familiarity, and giving our clients experiences money can't buy, was vital.

The team was always very thoughtful about our needs as a sponsor. We were real partners working together.

Scottish Opera’s work is adventurous and modern, with an amazing commitment to the community. You should want to be part of an outstanding Scottish success story.’

Baillie Gifford

Baillie Gifford is a Global investment management company who we’ve been in partnership with since 2009. Our partnership is focused on making Scotland a wonderful place to live and work. Beyond making opera accessible to everyone, the partnership enables us to build a creative ecosystem that brings jobs to Scottish people, cultural experiences to local people to connect and understand different life experiences through art.

With Baillie Gifford’s support, we are empowering the creative minds of Scotland to flourish, from lighting and costume designers to singers and coaches. Our partnership inspires curiosity and creates opportunities to take part, especially through the staff raffle to raise money and get tickets for Scottish Opera shows.

Juliet Smyth, Philanthropy Manager said ‘Having the staff raffle is important to us as a big company. It connects staff across the business, giving staff an opportunity to connect with people who haven’t met before, which is even more vital as many people work remotely.’

‘The team at Scottish Opera are friendly and responsive, approachable, we’ve done a few visits behind the scenes and even went to meet a singer backstage. The talent is unreal and the productions are genuinely beautifully staged and very impressive. You are guaranteed a high quality experience.’
