About the show

Everyone knows that factories are places where people and machines make everything from chocolates to cars and from toys to t-shirts. In many ways, Scottish Opera is like a factory - a factory that makes opera!

Performers, musicians, directors, stage managers, costume makers, and scenic artists are just a few of those who bring opera to the stage. It’s a fascinating, funny and fast-moving journey, so why not come and see how it’s done?

The Opera Factory is an engaging way to introduce P3 & P4 pupils to the artform and learn more about how teamwork can lead to success! A cast of actors and singers are joined on stage by The Orchestra of Scottish Opera, where pupils will learn about different voice types and how singers can play a range of characters, from feisty heroines to scheming villains!

Teachers of P3 & P4 pupils will be sent the teaching track and lyrics to learn a song in advance, so that everyone can join in the fun on the day with the singers and Orchestra.
