Do you teach in Glasgow? Our free digital resources were designed to help you deliver a project to celebrate Glasgow's 850th birthday in 2025, preparing your primary school pupils for a performance day while helping them learn all about Glasgow.
Our digital package gives your pupils the opportunity to be involved in a special performance day, or simply enjoy some expressive arts activities in the classroom. Whether this is your first time delivering a music-based project in the classroom or you're a seasoned pro, you'll find our comprehensive package of audio, video, and curriculum-based resources easy to follow.
Our flexible digital approach means you can build all elements of the project into your timetable or lesson plans at times that suit you, allowing you to deliver aspects of A Curriculum for Excellence.

About Built On The Clyde
Experience the heart of Glasgow through five powerful musical performances, featuring our vocalist Lea Shaw as the voice of Mother Glasgow herself. Our production brings together three distinct character groups: Citizens, Workers, and Landmarks, each representing a different era in the city's rich history.
Together, these voices tell the complete story of Glasgow: its past, present, and future, all connected by the river that flows through the city's soul.
What's included?
This package provides you with everything you need to make the project – and the performance day – a success. This includes:
- PDF of the lyrics.
- Audio files including the full score, instrumental only backing tracks, and detailed teaching tracks which take you line by line through the music, which can be both downloaded and listened to online in playlists.
- Videos which teach you the staging and dance moves for each song.
- If you opt to stage the piece as a performance for families and friends, we also include a series of short videos featuring images of famous places and buildings across the city. These are intended to be played on a large tv or projection screen as backdrops in the space where the children are performing. There are also five short films which act as a link to connect each of the children’s songs. In these, the character of Mother Glasgow (sung by our singer Lea) introduces the different people and places that make Glasgow.
