Scottish Opera Young Company (formerly Connect)
For 16 to 23 year olds with a passion for performance

Scottish Opera's Young Company gives aspiring singers, instrumentalists and stage managers a unique and practical introduction to the world of opera. Rehearsing through the year, Young company members work with a range of opera professionals – including directors, choreographers, conductors and vocal coaches  –  to hone their skills, culminating in their own fully-staged performance.

If you'd like to be involved back stage, then Scottish Opera Young Company is for you!

Scottish Opera Young Company (formerly Connect) is a unique opportunity for 16 to 19 year olds to learn more about the role of stage managers in producing opera. Mentored by the Young Company Stage Manager you will, alongside other Scottish Opera professionals, undertake the stage management of the Young Company end of term production.

You'll work directly with the Chorus and Orchestra in a busy opera rehearsal room, as well as working with professional directors, conductors, repetiteurs, choreographers, vocal coaches and singers.

Entry is by application and interview. Ability to read a music score is not necessary. Application deadline: Fri 25 May 2018.
