A Symphony in Stone, scored by former Scottish Opera Composer in Residence, Lliam Paterson, and produced by Scottish Opera board member Tony Burton OBE, has been awarded Best British Feature at the Kyiv Film Festival (Ukraine) 2020.
Fever!, our online opera for kids, was a hit with families across the globe as they tuned in for a live stream performance on Monday 22 June. After an incredible five weeks sharing online teaching resources from this popular primary school production, we were delighted to welcome around 200 enthusiastic families to the live stream of the show.
We are thrilled to announce the premiere of our first ever short film, The Narcissistic Fish, which we will launch on Thursday 18th June at 7pm, on our website. The 12-minute film is a collaboration between Scottish Opera’s Composer in Residence Samuel Bordoli, Scottish poet and novelist Jenni Fagan (The Panopticon) and our own in-house filmmaker, Antonia Bain.
It has become clear to us at Scottish Opera that, because of the continuing uncertainty around convening large gatherings due to Covid-19, it will simply not be possible for us to present our large-scale Autumn 2020 production.
