Designer Tim Meacock was at this year’s Herald Scottish Culture Awards awarded the Best Designer Award for his incredible 360 degree design of ‘Paisley Opera House’ for our immersive performance of Leoncavallo’s Pagliacci.
This week, Scottish Opera are flying the flag for human rights. We worked with Primary 3 pupils from St Joseph’s RC Primary School in Glasgow who designed their own flags for human rights, which were displayed at a performance of Puffy McPuffer and the Crabbit Canals as part of our Pop-up Opera tour.
In a new online exclusive, Scottish Opera debuted a short film as part of Crafted by Scotland in Scottish Ballet’s Digital Season. ‘In Glasgow’ is taken from composer Lliam Paterson’s song cycle ‘Spirit of the Place’ and sets Edwin Morgan’s poem to music.
The documentary ‘A Symphony in Stone’, scored by former Scottish Opera Composer in Residence Lliam Paterson, premieres at 3pm on June 30 at Glasgow’s Grosvenor Cinema.
