We are teaming up with a psychologist and dreaming researcher from DreamsID for a Facebook Live on Wednesday 9 February at 7pm. Inspired by our upcoming new production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream, which opens at Theatre Royal Glasgow on February 22, we are delving in to the science behind our own dreams and the subconscious thoughts behind them.
Today (2 February), we were delighted to welcome First Minister Nicola Sturgeon to our Production Studios in Glasgow, to mark the recent relaxation of COVID restrictions in Scotland’s entertainment sector.
We are delighted to welcome 15 young performers from the National Opera Studio for a week long residency in Glasgow, culminating in a performance at Theatre Royal Glasgow on 25 February entitled Anarchy at the Opera.
We at Scottish Opera are all deeply saddened to hear of the recent death of Lady Veronica Gibson, President of Scottish Opera and wife of Scottish Opera Founder Sir Alexander Gibson. Lady Gibson, or V – as she was known to all her friends, was a beloved fixture of Scotland’s cultural landscape for six decades, and played a key role in Scottish Opera’s behind the scenes development when her husband founded the Company in 1962. She was also President of Scottish Opera from 20 September 2013 until her death yesterday at the age of 85.
